drown

We whisper to our shattered earth: I am singing to the cold hands of water we say I am here. In these trackless forests our laughter gleams in careless bubbles, rising through the darkness of our delight.

drown is a novella about the alternately suffocating/liberating friendship between Cassandra and Aurelia. They have just reached 18, and are struggling with their bonds to each other, to their own identities, and to the place they inhabit: a suburb outside of Los Angeles, California. These landscapes are exlplored through language, dance, and dream.
